Noosa Chorale is a community choir dedicated to bringing a rich repertoire of diverse music to the people of the Noosa region and Sunshine Coast. The shared love of music, both personal and for the enrichment of the community, is at the heart of the Chorale which is a major feature of Noosa’s cultural landscape.
Membership is open to anybody in the community who has a desire to sing great choral works. Many people with little musical experience have developed their singing and musical skills through the Chorale. An ability to read music is an advantage, but if you cannot read music, it is essential that you have a computer with internet access so you can practise at home, or that you can record rehearsals for later practice. There are no auditions for prospective members; we are committed to maintaining a friendly and enjoyable rehearsal experience while achieving high standards of musical performance. Membership of Noosa Chorale provides a privileged opportunity to be part of a high quality choir with an excellent performance venue, an esteemed music director/conductor, a highly skilled accompanist, the opportunity for sectional rehearsals, access to subsidised music scores, and the chance to perform with professional and semi-professional musicians. Noosa Chorale's performance program consists of 3 major concerts each year, as well as performances for civic occasions such as Anzac Day, Easter services, and carol-singing at Christmas time. We hold three rehearsal terms each year, culminating in a major concert performance at the end of each term. We do not normally accept new members once the rehearsal term is well underway, and will advise prospective new members to join in the subsequent term.
